Delete Your MemFish Account
This page explains how to delete your MemFish data and account.
What Data Does MemFish Store?
On your device (local):
- Flashcards, ponds, and study progress
- App settings and preferences
On our servers (if you used AI features):
- Date of birth (for age verification)
- AI generation quota usage
- Google account identifier
On your Google Drive (if you enabled backup):
- Backup files containing your flashcard data
How to Delete Your Data
Step 1: Delete Local Data
Uninstall the MemFish app from your device. This permanently deletes all flashcards, study progress, and settings stored locally.
Step 2: Revoke Google Access
- Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Find “MemFish” in the list of apps
- Click “Remove Access”
This disconnects your Google account from MemFish.
Step 3: Delete Google Drive Backups
If you enabled backup:
- Open Google Drive
- Search for “MemFish” or navigate to the MemFish backup folder
- Delete the backup files
Step 4: Delete Server Data (AI Users Only)
If you used the AI flashcard generation feature and want us to delete your data from our servers:
Email us at: privacy@memfish.app
Include:
- Subject: “Account Deletion Request”
- The email address associated with your Google account
What we will delete:
- Your date of birth record
- AI generation quota and usage history
- Your account identifier
Timeline: We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion by email.
Data Retention After Deletion
After completing all steps above:
- Local data: Deleted immediately when you uninstall
- Google Drive backups: Deleted when you remove them (we never had access)
- Server data: Deleted within 30 days of your request
